The farmhouse

Klein Moerbei’s farmhouse, built in 1905 was purchased from the grandson of the original farmer. This family home is surrounded by ten hectares of beautiful gardens and woodland. The house has been restored with love and the relaxing decor mirrors its Victorian heritage, with many of the original features still in place.

Bedrooms

The farmhouse can comfortably accommodate four adults in a double room with en suite bathroom, and a twin bedroom. Up to four children can sleep in a room with bunk beds as well as on a sofa bed in the twin bedroom. A cot is available in the children's room. Besides the en suite, there are an additional two bathrooms boasting a cast iron Victorian bath and a shower.

Entertaining areas

The home is perfect for entertaining with several extensive gathering spaces for the family. The kitchen offers a wonderful opportunity to bring the family together around the table for a meal prepared on the Aga stove. The large dining area, drawing room and family room are perfect for relaxing and catching up on some quiet time. Then, if you would prefer a view while you relax, or while you eat, move out onto the spacious veranda with its outdoor lounging and dining areas. The Weber braai is available if you wish to make the most of the perfect weather and prepare your meal outdoors.

The swimming pool

The Weber braai can also be used in the pool garden for that refreshing mid-braai dip and lunch around the pool. The sparkling 10 x 5 metre swimming pool in its own secure enclosed garden is safely gated to keep your young children out while you’re reading on the veranda or enjoying that Victorian bath with peace of mind.

Home-grown eats

Anybody who loves messing about in the vast kitchen will be thrilled with the gardens. Next to the farmhouse are a herb garden and an organic vegetable garden, as well as groves of lemon and olive. Other fruit trees to be found include guava, fig and lime trees.

Fully staffed

For your convenience, the manager of the property lives in a cottage nearby and will be available to answer any queries or to assist with information about the area and with any bookings. The home and garden are kept spotless by Klein Moerbei’s full-time cleaning and gardening staff, so relax and enjoy your time off!
